I have a '97 4Runner Limited, 4x4, 3.4l auto. It has a leaking rear axle case. I have access to an '02 4Runner SR5. Are these axle cases compatible? Are any other parts compatible? I'd like to strip as much from the '02 as I can... free parts

The limited 4x4 axle housing will have a notch cut out for the e locker. But getting a free axle that doesn't have the notch when you need it is better than having it when you don't! A little grind action and you should be set..

Most parts are can be interchanged interior and exterior. You have to make sure the pinion share the same gear ratio as your limited. If not, catastrophe!

You can upgrade the interior to the 99-02 which I did on mines. Rear cab compartment is bigger, top console, arm console, etc.

Definitely swap the headlights if the '02's are intact. Plug and play and much better.
