Part number EGR VSV '99 tacoma
I have a 1999 2.7L 4WD SR5 Tacoma 230K miles.
I have have continual P0402 code.
Diags are as follows...
Pull vacuum on EGR directly. This correctly shuts off engine.
Located a couple hoses that were dried and cracked. Replaced or repaired with rescue tape.
Modulator - do not understand how to correctly diagnose.
Other info - I have noticed over time that vehicle seems a bit weaker than it used to be, especially at first starting.
Read several threads and I believe I may have a defective "VSV for EGR".
I understand it is located under intake manifold and held in place by a single phillips screw. I just learned this and have not actually put eyes on this part but it seems reasonable. I understand it may likely be green in color.
Symptoms -- weak running for first 1/2 mile or so.. repeated P0402 code. Otherwise runs fine for everyday use.
What I can't seem to pinpoint is the exact part number for this part.
So my questions are.
Part number?
Does my assumption, lacking diagnosis of the modulator and the VSV seem reasonable? ( I don't know how to diagnose these parts )
Any other advice?
Thank you...
TB
