I have a 5speed 4cyl Runner and i have noticed that usually everytime i shift, my Parking Brake light comes on, then goes off a short time after. Now i have made sure that the arm isnt jumping, because i taped it down and im still having the same problem. Anyone one having the same problem or have an answer? It usually happens in the lower gears and i do smooth shifts, not jumpy ones that would warrant something like that.

 

Brake fluid is low in master cylinder......causing float to drop during shifting.

top off fluid,check brakes for wear.....It might be time for some new pads....

Its most likely brake fluid low like stated above. I had this happen after taking apart my rear axle and bleeding the brakes when i put it all back together.

 

maybe the parking brake is just out of adjustment?
