Panzer's 4runner Pictures (Comments/Questions are welcome)

Hello all. I've been getting information from this site for years during the build-up of my 4runner (which never seems to end ). Below are the pictures I took of it at my latest camping trip in the Coconino National Forest (near Flagstaff, AZ). Thanks to all of you for your write ups, pictures and posts as they have helped shaped what I've done with my 4runner.

Comments/questions are welcome, thanks.

Hello fellow firefighter! Great looking ride.

Never realized the shrockworks bumper sat so close to everything. I think it should have more clearance than that to allow for flex.

What does the short throw transfer case shifter do?

Great looking rig Panzer. I love the look of the shrockworks especially with the stubbs sliders.

I have a little more than .5 inch. Based on the brackets I recieved from Shrockworks and the 1.5" body lift this was how it turned out. No problems yet.

My 1.5" body lift dropped the Transfer Case (TC) shifter (the 4wd shifter) down 1.5". The TC shifter was closer to the casing around it so the short throw shifter from Marlin Crawler raised it back up and also shortened the "throw" so it wouldn't be so close to the casing and possibly get knocked out of gear if the body flexed. This was more of a precaution than anything and I took the advice of Steve Schafer @ Sonoral Steel to put this on. It wouldn't be that fun to get knocked out of gear when I really needed it .

Thanks dannomite, Richard over at stubbswelding.com is a great guy and really makes a quality product.

Thanks E30RUNNER. I really like the shrockworks bumper, however it took over 6 months to get the bumper. They were moving facilities at the time (would have been about Nov/Dec of 2008) so this is why they said it took so long. I'm not sure if they still have any production delays, I'd ask them for a very specific time frame if you order from them. They make a great product and I was willing to wait so it ended up working out.

Very sharp truck Herr Panzer. Remember to submit some pics for our 2011 calendar competition next September. Sorry you missed the 2010 edition.

So shrockworks was able to make brackets for your 1.5" BL?

Looks great.

The shrockworks folks sent me the 2" brackets but my bumper had the holes drilled in it "higher" than normal so that it rested well on the truck with the 1.5" body lift. Honestly I think I was lucky. The only reason I know the holes in my bumper were drilled "higher" was because I ordered 2 bumpers and my wife's bumper had just 2 holes on each side, while my bumper had 4 holes on each side (2 normal holes and 2 "higher" holes). Hope that made sense...

Nice rig! That looks similar to "our" old camping spot off Willard Springs Rd...
