I have a 98 4Runner Limited and I hate the grille that is chrome like, i want to paint it body colored and I want to know any tricks or advice to do something like that?

 

If your going to repaint the grille, i would definately sand all of the fake crome off of it first other wise it will chip and the paint will go with it. good luck let us know how it goes, i've thinking about doing this myself.

 

I painted mine a few weekends ago.

Sanded all the loose stuff off, and scuffed up all the rest. Did two coats for primer to fill in any imperfections, then a few coats of paint, seems to look pretty good to me. Time will tell on the sturdiness of the paint job.
