It's the only 2pin double throw I could find around here, it was $3 so I'm not out much it I replace it in the future. I just want to get it done to see if it works.

Yeah it will work fine, I was just letting you know there was another option that looked more OEM if you wanted to switch later.

Paddle shifted my way home after work today, good feeling it actually works after 3 months of work! Road testing has only been 3 miles so far though.

Only thing left is to figure out what to do about the converter lockup control. After looking at the internals of one of the converters and seeing how incredibly weak it looks I will probably just put it on toggle for highway driving.

After my transmission work with my upgraded converter for some reason the lockup will kick in even under WOT in 4th gear. The lockup will hold but just. I don't think I would trust it for WOT usage which is why i would kick the OD off to stop it from coming on.

Why not just make lockup like an additional upshift... or have it timed. On mine it just has an 8 second delay after you shift to 4th and it unlocks whenever the brake is depressed. I copied the idea from the lockup control modules they sell at my old work. http://bowlertransmissions.com/default.aspx?mpid=41

Probably because I use OD like twice a month, I always have it turned off. I only use it when I leave town to find a good trail.

So then what would be the problem with having it timed? If you only use od twice a month it and it only locks up in od?

Took 3 months but it's done and it works. Sorry that you can't see the shift indicator and it's not that great of quality. I just smashed the cam between the headrest and seat top and went for a short ride.

Looks great! Does it take a second from the click to shift? What is the cause of that?

No, the controller shifts instantly. That's why I want to shim the accumulators to shift faster and harder.

Looked like there was a delay, guess not.

From personal experience, shimming the accumulators alone does almost nothing for shift time. In my case they installed super stiff double springs and it still had hardly any noticeable effect.

They also had to turn the line pressure all the way up to get any real noticeable difference in shift time. Still not as good as a proper IPT VB job though.

I am guessing there are some places that need to be drilled out as the limiting factor for shift time, where and how I have no idea.

I can say from listening to your trans shift under WOT, it is not going to live long without a valve body mod of some kind. I got about 10k miles out of mine.

There is no delay in the electronics side of things is what he is saying TA... The slower shift time on an automatic trans just becomes much more obvious when the driver is actually telling it when to shift. I'm sure IPT has done quite a few different mods with their valvebodies to make shift time better. I know typical mods are different springs and a few holes drilled bigger, but they could actually have a few valves custom made and some passages completely re routed. The accumulators just cushion the shift, it still takes time for the fluid move through different passages and for certain components to lock and unlock. CM... I do agree with TA... with WOT shifts like that, your trans won't last very long. Perhaps you do need to look into a spark cut... it would be easy to add in.
