Own a 99 4 runner now

Hard to believe I have owned a newer 99 4 runner for a week.
I bought it for $3000 it came with a ome lift and 34x10.50 swampers on it as well as stubbs rock sliders.

Anyways the mods will continue onto the new project.

So far the only things I have done to it was change the oil and replace the air filter which was caked in mud.
I'll be doing a whole service on it soon changed the transmission fluid and differential fluids.
Also the exhaust needs some attention since it was damaged offroading and the previous owner through a cherry bomb on it.
So that's gotta go it's super load and anoying. It's going to the shop for a new exhaust on thursday.

Is is a white one? I saw one that sounds exactly like the one you're describing on CL a few days ago, price, lift, pizza cutters, etc

I'll try my camera is currently broken so I can see if I can snap one with my netbook.

Also anyone know if I can put a TJM T15 from a 95-97 tacoma on my 4 runner? Is it doable with minimal modification?

I think everything was the same until 02 with the frame mounts. The 99 grill and headlights have small differences from the previous years. Could be an interference. You can always swap out grills with the millions of others who want the 99+ style.

34s are pretty common. 255/85/16 is 33.6" tall x 10" wide.

Well I liked the 86 however it was not practical for me.
I work in a conservative IT field at a local hospital and the 86 barely fit in the parking garage.
This was more modern it has more HP and is more up to date.

I've done a little to it:

I fixed the rear hatch. The exhaust was replaced. Transmission fluid changed, Differentials and transfer case fluids changed.
I replaced all the spark plugs with NGK's the old plugs were highly worn.
The air filter was changed. I had to remove the air box and clean the 1" of mud out of it.
I cleaned the Air Flow Meter.
Seems like with every bit of maintance I have done to it has gained me 5 more hp and more mpg.

The whole interior was filthy and needed to be cleaned a good vaccuming was done and I wiped down everything.
Ordered a HID headlight kit and I will be retrofitting a set of Hella 500's with HID bulbs as well for it.

A ARB bullbar will be on it soon as well as a winch.

Ok well the the H4 HID's are installed.
I used the Volt H4 6500k Digital HID kit.
I like it but it sucks not having high beams.
So the solution now is when I get my retro fit kit for my hella 500's.
I will wire those to a relay on the high beam circuit those should suffice pretty well for high beams.
Either that or I will have to order a set of bi-xenon bulbs. not sure if I am sold on the ones that move with a soliniod. running two xenon bulbs and 4 ballasts sounds better.

I was thinking a kit like this: http://www.amazon.com/JLM-Conversion...4944179&sr=1-2

Anyone have experience with the bi xenon kit that just pulls the bulb in and out the electro magnet type?
Is it crap should I just get the dual bulb kit?

Congrats!!

Nice find and nice price....I too would love to put in an HID kit as I just picked up some '99 headlights, but I have a feeling you are going to catch some flack for just putting HID bulbs in a non projector housing...

Can't wait to see the pics!
