Overhead question

i'm getting a used but still good overhead for my 22re...however this overhead im getting came from a older engine (guessing a late 80's model yota) and the engine in my truck is from a 94...my question is...will this overhead im getting be fine or do i need to get a newer one for my truck?

Overhead? you mean the cylinder head? What part are you talking about...

im talking about the thing the rocker arms is connected to. someone told me thats the overhead...i could be wrong on names of the part lol

You mean the cam. You vehicle is what's known as an OHC...

Overhead Cam.

not to sound stupid or anything but could you show me a picture of one so i know we are both on the right page about this and also would it matter to put that on a engine that's not the same year as it?

yeah thats it all right. thanks for the picture ...so should i have to worry about anything if i replace that with a older one or does it matter?

I dont know much about the 22R series engines, but as long as the coolant passages, etc line-up, you will be fine. You should contact a pro about this, like LC Engineering. Or post a thread on this forum that reads:

"Will a __ head fit on my __ year block?"
