Are there much?

I know most people here are riding on 285/75s, but they arent true 33x12.50's.

Would you think a 16x8 rim w/ 4inch backspacing adn 305/70's would fit under my 4runner with a 2" BL? Will there be any problems with hitting the a-arm?

 

Im gonna try that. I have a revteck in front and downey in the rear. With a Roger Brown 2 inch body on the way. But im running 16x10 Welds. So hopefully They'll clear with no problomes. But I've heard of guys clearing 35s with a little pounding a cutting.

 

I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for, but...

I'm running 33/12.5-15s (true 33s, but on a 15" rim), and there is no way they would have every cleared the stock a-arms. I've got the stock 15" rims, and the only rubbing I get is on the frame rails when the wheels are turned and compressed. It's not bad - I can certainly live with it as it only does it on occasion, and never for any length of time.

 

That is what I'm running right now with a 1" BL. There is plenty of space between the tire and A-arm with 4" backspacing. I do have rubbing on the plastic fender flares/inner fender lining just behind the front tires, when the wheel is slightly turned and the suspension is cycling over mild bumps. It only happens occasionly under normal driving conditions but, this past weekend I did some offroading with the swaybar disconnected and there was a lot of contact. I may or may not trim the plastic depending on how long I decide to keep these tires.

 

What did you do to fix that? Do you have aftermarket a-arms or do you have less backspacing?

Would less backspacing (3.75") be better for keeping the tire away from the truck, however it would be sticking out further to hit the fender, correct?

Would I have clearance between the a-arm with my stock 16x7 rims? Or should I go ahead and get the 4" backspaced?

I wouldn't recommend any less backspacing than 4" on 8" wide rims. 4" is enough to clear the stock A-arms and the tires end up sticking out about an inch from the SR5 plastic fender flares. The rear tires will still stuff with no rubbing but it is close.
4.25" BS on 8" wide rims might also clear those tires from the A arm.

 

I may be ignorant but how Do I mesure backspacing on my rims???

 

I am running 305/70 mt/r's with 16x8 with 4.0 bs. No rubbing. I could probly fit 315/75 (35's) but I dont want to wear steering rack. with 4.0 bs my tires set out from the wheel well like 1/4 of a inche past my limited flare.

 

I like the look of the 33s, Hopefully I can have some awsome shots to show you guys of what my runner looks like when Im finsihed
