I'm hoping to find a good deal within the next couple of months on a ride very similar to yours.

Congrats! That's a great looking 'Runner.

We ended up getting it for $12,500. We had a trade in vehicle, so we were limited on who we could buy from. The reserve was $14,500, according to the seller. I don't think he would have reached it, but who knows? So far, it is running good, we have almost 700 miles on it in just a couple of days, course, ~400 were from the drive back.

Nice -- thanks for the details. So you came to an agreement over the phone? Did you have any reservations about making the committment without being able to actually test drive the vehicle? Did you work any "contingency" clauses into the deal -- such as "agree to purchase under the condition that it checks out mechanically"? I'm trying to get an idea of how to best negotiate a deal on a vehicle, like in your situation, where inspecting the vehicle prior to purchase isn't possible. Any suggestions for what you would do different or lessons learned in the process?

$12k...you got a great deal. I just bought a 2000 SR5 V6 5-speed last week (similar to yours except mine doesn't have a sunroof or the nicer 5-spoke alloys) and I paid $17,000. 55,000 miles though, but who cares, it's a Toyota. Good find.

Very nice! Excellent choice of color!

And a great find with the RR button. It's a great friend to have.

I am super jealous. That is a find! Question: How does the tire/ lift combo work? Rubbing? How bad is the CV angle with lift coils and a spacer? I am looking into the same set-up and am hoping to save money through better parts research, than I did on my Taco. Again congrates on your new runner!
