Matt -I think the yellow top is what you want for high drain stuff.

then again the red should work fine as long as you arent running anything riduclous like a winch.

red should be fine, but if you will constantly be putting a large load aginst it, go with the yellow or blue top.

By the Optima red top and buy it the CHEAPEST place you can find it as they are warrantied by anyone that sells them and someone local sells them for sure. Go to Optima's website and it'll show you the local dealers. Also make sure to get the spacer/adapter as they are smaller/shorter than other batteries and you might need it to make the OEM battery mount fit nice and snug.

I run 5 sets of aux lights (640watts total) and a small amp for my stereo off an Optima Yellow Top. I've been very pleased with it.

Pep Boys won't have the 34r. You'll need to order. Also, you'll need to call Optima and have them send you the adapter as Brian said earlier. The 34r has reversed posts that are required for 3rd gens and even then it's tight getting the positive cable on. With the adapter in place, the battery fits great. A standard red top won't go unless you're ready to lengthen cables.

34R is what you need... and the adpater just raises the battery to the right height to use the factory brackets, thats what I have too

If you're willing to free-form the install for the short term... I've seen mentions of people who've used (e.g.) wood to raise the Optima to where it can be clamped down adequately with the OEM bracket...
