I was driving earlier today and I heard one loud pop from the front end. I was in 2wd and was driving straight at the time so I know it wasn't the steering stops, I thought it might be something hitting the skid plate but it was more of a 'pop' and less of a 'clang' so I'm not sure what is was...
I looked around under the front but nothing appeared to be broken...

Any ideas on what might have caused the noise?

Wheel weight maybe?
I experienced that a little while ago and it wasn't too much of a clang - more like a higher pitched thump.
