OME Steering Damper...

Hey guys, anyone know where I can get an OME steering stabiliser for my '89 Pickup? I've been looking around on the Internet but Haven't come up with anything as of yet.

Also, any idea what model # it would be (OMEDSsomethingsomething)?

Thanks.

Rubicon Express might have something that will work. You'll probably have to call them to find out.

Thanks

I contacted xtremeoff-road about the stabilisers, both for my truck and the 93 runner (prolly the same part). I'll let ya know what they say... I'm gonna check Rubicon Express real quick too.

Thanks guys.

The ones at 4x4 connection that they currently carry are apparently only for LCs. I may end up contacting them and seeing if they can get the one I need.

For the guys running them, how do they work out??

My trucks wandering a bit and I'm sure my stabilizer is not helping me out like I would like

I'd like to hear your reviews on the OME steering stabilizer too. My steering is more loose now that I've put the manual hubs on.

AgRunner there's a pretty noticable difference after installing the stabilizer. It really helped to quiet down the feel of the road through the steering wheel if that makes any sense. It almost felt like the steering wheel wasn't connected to the tires anymore like it was fly by wire You'll notice a difference when wheeling too it won't try to rip the steering wheel out of your hand as much in rough stuff. For the price I recommend it if you have even the slightest suspicion yours is toast. I even posted a write up in the tech section.

OMESD33 $58.84

This is from the 4x4 Connection page following the right series of links about what sort of truck it is.

That is where I got mine and it is fine. Lots better than the stocker with 120k miles on it. The 33's were a lot more under control, but alignment, idler arm, wheel bearings and a number of other things will make it lose up there.

For what it's worth, I still cannot til if my hubs are locked or unlocked without looking at them.

Just to add...

I got my OME from Mike at Xtreme Offroad. I think I paid just a little more than the 4x4Connection price.

The guy at Xtremeoff-road told me that there is no such thing as an OME Stabiliser for the third gen Toyota pickup. Is this true???

Since your front end is the same as mine, I'd say...hmmmm....WRONG! That is a surprising response from Xtreme....
