OME Specs...Straight from OME!
#41
I am running the med OME rear coils and firm shocks in the rear with Steves rear bump stops and drop bracket. It is an excellent combo.
The rear did not drop much when I added that real heavy rear bumper of mine and it evened out the difference between the front and rear.
The ride is not going to be harsh. I think you will find the ride improved over the sorry stock suspension espeically once you start adding some weight to the truck.

Awesome man! Do you have any idea what your bumper weighs, and how much lift you had before you put it on and how much you had afterwards?
I'm going to go that route, then, for sure. Are you running any body lift at all?
Also, since I'm not getting the downeys, is there a writeup on how to make a e-brake kit, or can it be purchased separately? Also, do I need to extend my brakes lines, and if so, what's the best route to go on that?
Boy, this is one expensive endevour!!

Have you guys ever seen this? Just thought it was interesting idea, and kind of would make the regular springs and shocks kind of like the SAWS. Check it out here: http://www.rocky-road.com/xjsus.html and go down to the adjustable coil spacer. It looks like it would give at least 1 1/4" of lift minimum with upwards of 4" possible. Pretty neet idea for someone not wanting to spend the money for new springs and shocks, but would like some lift to fit bigger tires.

Okay, that's easy! Steve mentioned on one of his recent threads that he thought up the ultimate spacer combo for folks that don't want to spend a ton of money. On of those items included the Revtek 1/4" Top-Mount-Outside-Spring-Spacer (or whatever it's actually called) in conjuction with the SAWS for an extra 1/2" of droop.
He also said right after that, that anything more than a 1/4" spacer outside the spring pack will cause the upper ball joint to collide with the spring at full droop, which obviously isn't good.
Hope that helps clear up what I was talking about. I just figured this would help keep the tire on the ground as much as possible, and only hurt the full compression by 1/2".

Steve,
When do you plan to run the revtek spacer, because I might hold off until you do some R & D, since I'm spending all this crazy money right now?
Oh, I forgot to tell you. I'm selling my 1998 limited, since I already bought a 1997 limited, which I've been driving now for almost a month. The reason was because I got my 1997 for $6200 under retail, and right at kbb trade in value on it. I was pumped about it, so I had to take everything off the 1998 and I haven't had an ounce of time to start putting it all back on the 1997.

Wow! That's awesome! I guess I'll go ahead and get it then, and be the first one to try it out. It looks straight from Revtek, they'll sell it for $78.
Do you have pictures and details on your skid plates, because I was looking at the Trail Carnage site for the ones that Gadget had, and I like them a lot.
Thanks,
Chris

That was for both the spacer and the studs. I thought it was a lot too.
I'm at a loss for what to do, since I've got my tires coming, and now I can't get the lift right now due to our family emergency. Man, this really sucks. At any rate, I've got the body lift already coming, so I figure that I could get by for the meantime with some used spacers if I knew anyone that has any. I was thinking about the Revtek 1/4" spacer(probably have to buy it, or if you want to make two, I'd pay you if it's cheaper), and another 1-1.5" spacer for the front, and then 1.5-2" spacers for the rear for right now.
I've already got the panhard drop bracket, so the only other things I would have to do is the brake lines, e-brake, and alignment. I figure I can swing that if I can find some used spacers? Does anybody have any for sale for real cheap?

I still have those OME front springs if you are interested. I figure I can get a little money out of them and get them out of my basement and help a brother out all at the same time.
If they stay around here much longer, they might end up cut up when I start my next project...

Gadget I appreciate that, but when I was talking with the OME tech guy, he said they aren't designed to be run with the stock shocks. What do you think about that? You have the 881's right?
