OME Front Trim Packer...Where does it go?

So I have OME 880's in the front and would like a bit more lift in the front before I put on my 285's. So I purchased these online. I guess I should have read a little closer cause I thought I was gettine a Bamachem style spacer that would go ontop of the strut under the upper A-Arm. So my question is Where do these things go on my strut? OME PART # 95PF5

Thanks

They go under the lower spring perch, you have to disassemble the strut to get them in.

I thought the trim packers went on top of the spring, between the spring and the top plate?

I believe that's the OME 10mm Lift Enhancer Kit.

The trim packers definitely go inside the coil assembly. Top plate spacers go on TOP of the coil assembly. Do you have a Body Lift on there? Just curious how 285s are going to fit with only the 880s on there?

I already have a set of 285's on 17x8 rims (4.75" backspacing.) I put them on last week and they seem to fit fine. I think I will have to trim the front bumper lip, but that seemed like the only place where there may be interference. So the trim pack I thought might give me an extra 3/8"-1/2" to help level me off as I have a 3/4" rake (front lower) on my truck now with 890's in the rear.

I kinda figured that they must go under the lower spring perch. I am going to try and put them on tonight.

I was thinking that I might try and take to strut apart by leaving the top plate bolted on, supporting the truck in the air on jackstands, floor jack under the bottom A Arm to hold the weight, then unbolt the middle strut bolt and SLOWLY lower the Jack releasing the trucks weight off the strut causing he strut to release tention. I have used this method to get struts off cars without having to use a coil compressor, but never on the front of a truck. Any one ever used this method? I have coil compressors, just thought this might be easier then unbolting the whole unit just to slide on these rings.

The theory sounds OK, I don't know if the lower arm will go down far enough though. Let us know if it works.

This sounds like much more work and potential for injury than just removing the strut. You can get the entire unit out in 5 minutes, 3 nuts on the top, one bolt on the bottom.

With the method you're talking about, I think you'd still have too much spring preload on the bottom mount bolt, even at full droop. When you knock the bolt out I think all hell would break loose... then good luck getting it back together like that. Even with the entire strut assembly together, I had to have my buddy push down on the LCA to line up the lower strut mount bolt.
