OME front lift options?

I have a 2000 4runner with 265/75-16 BFGs and im looking for a slight lift for the front. I was looking into getting Kings or SAWs but i dont have 700 to dish out for those. Im looking for something that isnt too stiff because i wont be wheeling very often at all. What do you guys think i should be looking at?? Thanks

Agreed! To give you a place to start searching, look into OME 882's or 883's. FWIW, 882's are known to sag over time. Some have started running 883's without problems.

883's are stiff as hell. Designed to hold up a rig with a bumper, winch, skid plate, and maybe a moose. They are beef.

Our 97 has had 882's for years and zero sag.

If you are looking for something just to level out the front on the cheap you might want to look at a spacer instead of a new coil.

Yea i forgot to mention that in my first post, but i want to stay away from spacers.

I just want something that will not be too stiff and good on the road because thats where ill be doing most of my driving. With the 882s, what shocks do you recommend running? Thanks

I run the medium duty OME shocks with the 882 coils, and 2 trim packers per side. Nice ride - not too stiff but much more stable than stock. I got about 2 inches of lift from them.

Just so I understand your original post...are you planning on keeping stock coils in the rear?

Yes im planning to keep the stock coils in the rear.

i just want something that will get me around 2 inches of lift. I was thinking about maybe doing tundra coils as well but i dont know.

What all do i need to get if i just wanna do the front?

2" of lift should make your front end sit higher than the rear. Are you sure you want that?

If you lift the front with ANY spring, your going to end up with a saggy rear end.
From what your asking/wanting, i'd recommend '99 springs...
Complete kit (#3) here... http://www.sonoransteel.com/store_co..._liftkits.html
Another option would be f/r Performance Product springs with new shocks... http://www.performanceproducts4truck...=28&pid=104589

BIGHEAD: Im okay with it being a little bit higher in the front. I actually kinda like the way that looks.

I dont really want a complete lift kit, i just want something that will at least level out the front with the rear because i hate the way it sits right now. I definately dont want to do spacers though.

Im thinking maybe 99 coils up front with some bilstein or ome shocks and leaving the rear stock for a while.

what do you gusy think??

I would say both the 882 and 883's would be too stiff. I have 881's which are firm, but not overly stiff (stock bumper). They gave 2.5" of lift on my '02 low rider.

However, the 99 coils are probably your bet bet to keep a close to normal rake.

I think the butts of most 4runners look saggy any ways. Its going to look like a baja truck if you make it taller in the front.

thats fine with me...i hate the way they look with any rake. I dont know what it is about it haha.

But anyways, do you guys think '99 coils up front with my stock shocks would give me that little lift im looking for? Or should i go with new shocks as well? Thanks a lot

My advice would be to do shocks at the same time you do new springs. You've got to take a part the strut assembly anyway, so it's a good time to do them.

If you do '99 coils up front, you'll have reversed rake...which looks like crap IMO. It's your rig, but I'd consider doing a small rear lift at the same time, just to level things out. Maybe consider doing '99 coils front and rear.
