Mark, you can certainly use them, but they are anything but ideal.
No idea on the bumpstops......don't really want to roll under and measure either (too damn cold).

Jamie is right, the billies probably will be too stiff, but it will soften up compared to what you have. I can't speak for OME shocks, but I have the trekmasters with the OME coils and I love the setup...and if I am not mistaken, the trekmasters are alot cheaper than the OME shocks.

You buy shocks for the ride, not the warranty.
I haven't seen many OME shocks give up the ghost despite the shorter warranty.

Whew, i think i have read through this thread a dozen times...haha there is some good info on here. I was wondering what people thought about the lift combo i am considering. I have a 98 4runner with an arb bumper up front. The lift combo i was considering is
front (881, 91s)
rear (906, 86c)
Does anyone feel that the bumper will make the lift sag prematurely? I am considering putting in a winch in the next year or so as well. I kinda like the Toytech 3" ome lift as well. Just want the most bang for the buck, and something that won't rattle my jaw, but still perform well on the trail. Thanks for the help.

Call Toytech - they'll answer any question you have about the proper coil setup, and what to expect with a bumper. He's the one that recommended I use the 906's over the popular 890's, and I'll be putting those on this week. After chatting with them, I feel confident about the choice I made.
Good luck!

Patrick, if you're putting on and ARB and a winch then you'll need to go with the Tundra coils up front with a topout spacer for sure and 890's in the rear. If you just do the same lift I have, it will likely sag and you won't be very happy with the result.

My 98 with just a TJM up front had major sag after about 6 months with 881s and Bilstein HDs. Its a little hard to see b/c I didn't straighten the wheels but you can still tell.

Whew, thanks for the info! Perhaps i should go with the SS 7.2 lift. Does anyone know if Steve will remove the panhard bar from the package. I think i like the weld on adapter from toytec better plus its a bit cheaper. I want to do it right the first time so i can be confident when i am on the trail.
THanks again!

I don't mean to hijack, but since this is the OME 906 thread, I'll post up.
I just installed the 881 & 906 combo, and the pictures are HERE
I'll try to update when the springs start to sag with finishing heights

BTW, I have black tokico's, and the ride is just a tad stiff for my liking, but it's better than the Cadillac/boat feeling I had before. If resources were better, I'd go with OME comforts all around with front limiting strap.

Nice looking Rig. I have a question to pose here. I just put the PP progressive springs, and they looks REAL close to those OME's that you have in the back. They aren't the same are they?

I honestly couldn't tell you. I couldn't see anything from a quick google search, but who knows, maybe they're clones or rebadges (I don't know why anyone would rebadge OME's though). But... someone on here may know better than I do - it's been known to happen . I honestly never looked at the PP springs, since I was already sold on OME.

What mpg difference did you see going from 881/890 to 881/906?

I have my panhard bracket and spacers ready to lift the front and even the back of my 881/890 setup, but I'm starting to think about going to the 906's instead.

Thanks
