Hi, guys, any of you installed ome 890 on your rig? I just put the 890 on my rig and I realize that the right side is about a little over half an inch taller than the left. Now I do realize that ARB USA haven't corrected the label on those coils. When I look at it the first time, I found out that the coil labeled with R/H is about 1/2 inch taller than the L/H coil. I read about article on here saying that the taller coil should go on the driver side and that was what I did. So I am confuse now, does these thing need some times to set in properly. IT just so frustrated to see that the left side is lower than the right, it looks so obvious from the rear. Any help and opinion are greatly appreciated!! HELP HELP :cry: :cry:

Are you springs sitting it the seats properly?


they still need to be driven on to let them settle in too.....

 

My 890's are marked PS & DS and appear to be correct. The one marked DS is slighty taller but not by much.
My 891's however are marked R/H & L/H like your 890's and are backwards. The one marked R/H is taller.
Interesting, at least to me.
Anyway, if you are absolutely sure that you put the longer one on the left side and they are seated correctly, then it sounds like you're in need of some trim packers which, for the rear, are a breeze to install.

PS. I like Bruce's idea about filling the tank. You might also take a measurement with someone in the driver's seat.

 

Thanks for the input, I might not make myself clear enough. When I said the right side is lower means that the driver side is lower. So I think if I fill up my tank with a driver in the truck, it will make things worse, don't you guys think so?

 

Put the wrong info, I mean when I said the left side is lower mean the driver side is lower. sorry about that

 

Since they are rear springs. You could always just switch them and see if it is worse or better. It is not very scientific but the rears are not all that hard to change, are they?

I don't think OME makes a spring for the 2nd gens.
Downey seems to be the most popular for you guys.

So, there we have it.
I did originally intend on using the Downey 1.5" HD coils, but I could not find them from a local distributor so I went with my 2nd choice, the OME's.

 

Sorry, i take that back.....there was a guy using them on a 2nd gen too.

His setup:
Front Shocks: N98
Steering Damper: OMESD33
Rear Coils: OME891
Rear Shocks: N72F

My bad.....most of the guys use the downey ones or OME860 or OME863s.

 

This isn't very well documented
I'll have to do a writeup with my install.

 

DS or PS ???? I never noticed that before, guess I got it right both times.

 

No front coils on 2nd gens, there is no DS or PS specific.

 

I have a 3rd gen, does this only apply to rear coils or 2nd gen rear coils?

OME sells trim packers in 10mm and 5mm sizes. Could always try those on.

 

I think I might need the trim packer like you said. But what exactly is trim packers?
