The new beach truck. Going to have a good tech go through it fully. Get a good roof rack and recovery gear, get the undercarriage coated with this stuff http://www.eurekafluidfilm.com/appli...utomotive.html (open to suggestions), weathertech mats, Okole covers, rod holders, and go catch some big fish on the surf!

I know this has been asked before, but can anyone give my general guidlines on how much wider of a tire I can go with stock wheels w/o going with some nutty spacers?

Fluid Film: don't know much about the stuff. Thought that coating metal with an oil emulsion sounded like a good idea; prevent rust and lubricate. Rustoleum is just paint.

LTW: yup. This was Seth Thomas' car, pro racer in the World Challenge series for Bimmerworld. He originally did a euro motor conversion and put in a 3.0L. I pulled that motor and put in a 3.2L euro. It's fast as hell on the track, especially with the built diff and Motons.

Here's the motor

Wow nice Truck AND car.

As for the biggest tires you can fit stock, 275's fit fine usually. 285's will fit but will rub a little, but usually minor trimming/lift will fix that.

Bigger then 285 needs 1 - 2 inches of lift and trimming.

So if i was you i would go for the 285, in fact thats what i will get if i decide to get bigger tires. I don't plan to lift more then an inch, maybe 2.

Thanks fellas. After driving the 4runner around for a day, I think I will go with a new suspension, and since I'm at it, my as well do a mild lift. I talked with Steve at Sonoran; he recommended the 7.2 for my use. Hopefully 2" wont be too extreme.

With the added height, 33s (285/75) sound like the hot ticket. The rig won't see daily commuting or anything so the bigger rubber would be nice for the sand, I think.

Here's my other toy. If you've seen Bad Boys you'll recognize the car.

Greetings! I've gone through cars like crazy over the years, but settled on a few toys for different purposes. I'm looking forward to getting the 4runner rigged properly as I think it will just as fun as my other toys but in a different way.

I sold the GT3. For the money tied up in it, I make room for the Turbo, the M3 ltw and the 4runner, all prepped.

Yep, if you are getting the 7.2 then 33" in 285 will be perfect. Might need just a tad of trimming for when you are flexing but nothing too bad from what i hear.

I would go 33" but just don't know if i could stand the power loss lol.

If you really want to do it right you could through a supercharger on there as well, then you can have some REAL fun!

Now you just need a Subaru SVX to complete that drive way

Good luck with the beach Runner. If you need some Beach ideas, go to:
