Well i picked up a used ARB bumper yesterday morning so it was a challenge to find the hardware needed to bolt up everything up. Well after getting the bumper, things got better and i picked up a Pioneer Avic-D3 last night on the way home...

Well i got home last night and was so ecstatic about the great stuff i had gotten i tore apart my dash and got the touch screen in there to replace my alpine though it is missing a few parts (plan to pick those up very soon: gps antenna and bluetooth mic).

This morning i ran to 2 different Home Depots and was able to get all the bolts and hardware that i needed to install the bumper... so i drove over to a friend's place which was trying to get a "wrench-a-thon" party so we immediately got started and they all thought i was crazy for cutting the frame ends off and we ran into a small problem with one bracket not being exactly straight but after a little tweaking we got everything on and it took us about 2-3 hours to get it all done.

Sry for the long posts but here are the pics and on the Pioneer, i plan to change the backgrounds to some sort of toyota images but not 100% sure yet.

 

that ARB has totally transformed your truck. Very nice addition.
I bashed the crap out of the one I had on my '05 Tacoma...it adds a new measure of confidence

stereo is cool too but I am into Armor

 

lol ya well i couldt pass up the deal on the stereo. Traded my xbox 360 slim i dont use for a $1200 screen and it came with the bluetooth adapter...

 

My kids would kill me if I traded one of their game systems for truck stuff but if I came across a deal like that I would have been on it in a heartbeat too

 

looks great man.. I totally want the hood, I can't find anyone in Little Rock with the same color willing to trade theirs for mine haha. Keep up the good work.

 

ocdropzone: ya i sold my mtb and got the 360 slim in hopes that i would play it but my sister's bf and i played it twice (continued playing the ps3) and so it sat for 3 weeks with no use so i had it on CL and had been wanting a screen for a while now but came across the ARB bumper so i bought that but was still kinda sad i didnt get the screen so i just started txting a few of the ppl on CL with screens if they were willing to trade and i found the guy who had the best deal and was willing to go for it! (he wrecked his tribute and got a soft top wrangler) So basically im happy and it was the ultimate trade of a lifetime... i doubt ill ever see something like that again.

Jwaldz: ya dude i love the hood, it came on the 4runner when we got it from the dealership (sport edition!) and well ive always been a huge fan and would nvr trade it so i know why its so hard to find them. There is actually a black one that has a small amount of clear coat chipping on CL here in san antonio, tx for $150... IM so surprised no one has picked it up yet (its been listed for almost 3 weeks now)

thanks for the heads up! I found the post and will call them tomorrow to see if they will ship. Prob be costly though.

 

UPDATE: ok well i picked up a set of Hella 500FFs after class and since i had the day off i decided to install them to complete the look i wanted with the bull bar... The lights are run off of the factory fog light switch only illuminates when the i have the corner lights on and headlights on. I have done the independent fog light mod so they will stay on with high beams and turn off with the ignition.

 

That bumper looks great, I want one. I noticed you didn't weld on a plate to your frame. How important is the plate if you're not planning a winch right away?

 

not necessary... like u dont have to have it but its better if u have it for winching. Without the winch tho ull nvr need that plate.

 

Ah so you must be the one who bought the used ARB on Craigslist, the one from Austin right?

I definitely would have bought that if I didn't just buy my sport hood....Nice find!
