Question OEM Lift Help Me with Pics

Help I'm Stuck on the fence. I'm looking the Lift my New to me 01 4Runner and I leaning towards Sonoran All Toyota lift. What would help me is to see some pics of your rides lifted with this set up. I've seen some, but what has me at a stand still is I plan on sticking with 265/75/16 tires and want to see how this will look in the rear with the extra 1.5 inches.

Thanx for your Help

Here's a thread w/ KyleT's setup. He has the ultimate lift and 265/70 tires but on 17" wheels so they're a little bigger than what you want. To me, it's a little too much rake for 265's. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/gx470-rims-oem-lift-ect-finally-done-pic-inside-81880/

But here's a thread started by Mr. Bob w/ the same lift but 285's. To me, w/ the 285's, much better: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/oem-lift-285-75-r16s-81534/

Good luck as many are going w/ this lift.

Yeah I saw Bob's with the 285s and it Looks great.
The other pic I saw was this one...

Kyle's but I forgot where I saw it. In this pic I think the tires are 265/70/16.
Yeah I think that is too much in the rear any suggestions for the rear to go with the OEM front to even it out?

I have 265/70r17's now (bling...)
same height as 265/75r16's
I didnt realize how much the lift was going to lift it when i ordered the tires, and there are only 265's and 295's in the terra grapplers in 17's. i htought 295's would be a little too much for me now, i still need to clear a 6'10" paring garage if at all possible, and with the lift and stock tires it was close, i have not tried it since the lift. the rear has settled a little too, and i have not added the front spacers yet, so as soon as i get that done, i think it will be a little less dramatic. 2 spacers will help expediate cv falure, so im not going to do that,
heres right after it was done:

OK.... this thread is calling my name....

With the 285s I clear our 6'6" garage... the power is still good with stock 4.10s.... milage is decent too....

here are some pics:

My honest oppinion is I wouldn't run 265/75s with that amount of lift in the rear... I would go tundra coils front and OMEs or somthing to that affect in the rear... I had 1"PP springs and 265/75 when I got the truck and that lookes good... but 3.5" in the rear is a lillte to tall for 265 IMHO.....

Hope this helps!
Bob

wow. too much lift in the rear.

i have a solution for ya at the end of this month, i'm swapping all my stuff out yet again. the fronts that i'm running now are taken, but the rear setup is up for grabs. i have 2.5" downey lift springs that have been used, so now they're more like 2.0-2.25" lift springs on a stock runner. with my HEAVY rear bumper and tire carrier, they're down to about 1.75" for me.

if you want them, i'd let them go for about $140 shipped (they're $290 + shipping new). also, they're progressive rate, so they match the ride quality of the fronts nicely.

i also have the used OME N86 shocks up for grabs if anyone wants them... $110 shipped gets 'em.

I might go with the Tundra coils up front myself....still undecided (and I am running stock P265/70R16s)

uh... im interested! $140 shipped for the rears would work for me.. im putting spacers up front, and want new coils in the rear, this is cheaper than new OMEs...

if so put me on the top of that list when they come off...

Bamachem, did you only have the Downey's in the rear or did you also have a spacer w/ the Downey's?

i have the downey's with now a 3/4" thick spacer to get me right at 2.5" of lift. however, i also have ~100+ # of rear bumper, 50+ # of rear tire carrier, and then another ~100+ # of spare tire and hi-lift hanging out back there.

What rear springs do you have on your 4Runner (Downey or LC)?

Those have to be LC coils to get that much lift with springs alone.

he has BRAND NEW LC coils - 3.5" of lift on a stock runner and may settle just a hair, but not expected to since he's pretty light in the back. that's what steve sells in his "OEM LIFT" kit.

I have some USED LC coils that should net me about 2.5" with all my extra weight and the fact that they've settled somewhat. The only reason that I can get away with such a SOFT coil and all that weight is the fact that I have airbags (Air Lift 1000) that I stuff inside the coils and therefore, i can adjust the stiffness and the height.

I would expect even used you'd get pretty near 3"+ in the rear with LC coils (w/ no extra weight).

Do you air down your airbags to go offroad?
How does that work (I thought there was a minimum psi for those)?

the minimum is about 7psi and then it kicks the pump on. when offroad, i just unplug the pump from the fuse box to keep it from running and then i air them all the way down. they are interconnected, so if one bag is stuffed, it can still transfer it's pressure to the other bag that isn't being pinched. that way they don't limit compression when the compressor is off.

How much was the compressor/airbag setup?
Where did you get it?
