oba tank suggestion

a guy at work , who 4x4's often , although he isa jeep fan , LOL, made a suggestion to me about oba tanks .
he said to check out school bus wrecking yards , not sure how many are around , but i would assume most major cities have them, for the small air tanks they have on them .

i guess each bus has like 4 of them , and they are small enough if out in series that they would work like a charm. and they have input and output nipples on them already .

i was telling him i wanted to get a custom made one to fit in my spare tire space , since i have 33 now and eventually going to 35 's the spare tire spot wouldnt do me any good anyways .

he said the ones hes seen you could probably fit 3 in the spare tire area .

sounds like a plan to me .

some many ideas , and so little money and time .

Bringing a post back from the dead....

I sue a 2½ gallon air compressor tank. Just a generic tank from a cheap Home Depot compressor. I'm also in the process of making a siamese tank cinsisting of two lengths of 4" sch 10 pipe with weld caps. They'll be mounted side-by-side between the framerails under the extreme rear of the bed. I chose 4" because 6" would protrude below the frame and wouldn't be as easy to armor. I figure they'll be ~2½-3 gallons each which would roughly triple current capacity.

Any other sources for cheap tanks? They are advertising 2 1/2 gal tanks in 4 Wheel Drive Mag for like $72 each. I want two, so that be a big "OUCH". Any cheaper alternatives? There aren't any school bus wrecking yards around that I've been able to find. All Ebay has are larger dia 5 gal tanks. Too big!!!!

I bought my 3 gal tank from an on-line lowrider store for $40. I don't remember the name but most lowrider stores carry them for their hydro's.
