ob2 code

anyone have any suggestions about this code cel is on after we were out wheeling this weekend . code is po171 system to lean bank 1 , any ideas where to start im not sure any help or suggestions what to look at or hopefully fix thanks in advance . ken . 99 tacoma v6 ext cab

Oxygen sensor pre-cat is out. There are 2 - One before the catalytic converter and one after. Change the one before the catalytic converter. It takes a special socket (tall with a slit in it). Sensor runs about $175.

This is the infamous MAF code...will need a cleaning...search for procedure.

thanks for the replies guys,i think i will try the MAF cleaning first since that is a lot less $ lol ,i will repost how i make out with it ,thanks again , ken

hey guys,i cleaned the maf and found the air filter was real dirty i put a new one in,and so far it has been fine,thanks for all the replies,ken
