O2 Sensor Shield ?

First off I would like to thank everyone that runs and particpates on this site.

I have a 1995 Toyota Pickup 4X4 22RE. I am the original owner and it has 103K miles on it. She is pretty much stock. This might sound strange, but I have recently fallen back in love with the truck and started to treat it like I should have been all these years.

Because of this site I have started to learn more about the truck and have started to do some of the maintenance myself.

Anyway my question is, I recently noticed that my truck had a O2 sensor shield on it. It was hanging by a thread an easy broke off when I pulled it. Do I need that shield on there? I probably could put it back on with some J-B Weld or something.

I don't do any hardcore offroading. I use my truck for daily driver and some farm work.

Thank you for your help.
