O2 Sensor....bosch?

I just bought a universal bosch o2 sensor.....I have read that a few people do not like them...think I should take it back and get Denso?

I don 't trust anything called "universal" - might work just fine, but my peace of mind comes from OEM (for most things)

Most O2 sensors put out the same voltages because of the way they are designed. "Universal" usually means it does not have a connector attatched and you crinp your old one onto it. These are usually 1 wire type of O2 sensors (I don't think I have ever seen a universal 2, 3, or 4 wire sensor). It makes sense.....One universal number to stock instead of 100 of the same sensor with different connectors for different applications.

I've used them before, they work great. That is as long as you don't mind splicing the connectors to save $40 off the price.

There's not much difference between the Bosch and the Denso sensors. Almost all O2 sensors are design to output voltage in the same range and any slight variation will be compensated for by the ECU. Other than connector, there really is no difference.

I put one of the Bosch universal sensors in my '93 4Runner last year, works fine. As for the wiring the colours are not the same but the instructions come with a chart showing which colours to match. Simply cut of the factory connector from your old one and connect it to the new one.
