o2 censor check engine light

i have an 95.5 tacoma 2.7. this last weekend i removed the catalytic converter and welded in a cat delete pipe. now my check engine light is on. from what ive been told is that the o2 censor on the down side of the cat is just to identify that there is a cat. well theres not. so is there anyway to bypass that and turn the check engine light off?

So you do have a down stream O2 sensor (after the cat) or not?

yes i do have one. there is also an upstream o2 censor. so 2 all together. i was told by a friend to disconnect the battery and it should turn off. so i did and it turned off. but a few miles down the road it came back on.

If your code is a P0420 this will turn off the CEL. http://www.urdusa.com/Electronics-Re...kvp6i7pdd47fl7

Or you could just put your cat back on

I think you meant P0420. And that is almost certainly what he is throwing.

Yes, thank you Durk, corrected above P0420. See... the URD sim works so good for me I forgot the number.

BTW I have a cat, but not a factory cat, and still need the sim.
