I am a new owner of a 2000 4Runner Millinium Silver. It is making
an irritating clicking noise that the dealer tells me is the
relay for the Air Conditioner. It only happens when the
AC is on. The noise is coming from inside by the front
passenger area under the dashboard. The dealer tells
me a new relay may solve the problem and costs $42.
However they want $100 to install !! :pat:

Has anyone else experienced this problem ? Should
a new relay fix it ? Can someone tell me where it is
located and how difficult it is to replace ?

Did you buy your 4Runner directly from a Toyota Dealership?...I would think that they would just replace the relay for you at no cost, specially that it is a fairly new 4Runner.

 

It funny that you should mention that i just got my ac regassed and while it was working i had the noisy relay and i was going to check it out but it seems that i have a leak by the dryer and now all my gas has gone again so i thought wtf who needs air con for anyway it never get that hot over here except for a few days a year and i still have windows. if you do find the problem can you please let me know and i might stump up to have it all fixed.
