My 1988 Pick-Up IFS doesn't have power steering. I don't believe that it ever did. I often have to fight my steering wheel in tight spots. I was wondering if I went down to the junk yard (or some where) and got a power steering pump and steering box would it fit my truck (with out serious welding and fabrication of parts and brackets) If the steering box does fit how different are the pitman arms and steering linkage stuff. The whole front end of my truck is stock, 1988 IFS.

the steering box is different, but it should bolt up to the same mounts if i remember correctly. just remember to grab all the gear in one go if you can

don't forget the bracket and idler pulley!

 

Yup, it's a complete bolt on. The only mod you'll need to do is drill the mounting holes for the reservoir.

when I had my 82 p/u . I bought all the shizit for ps for it but sold it before i got around to installing it. I think I paid like..... ah well I dont rember what I paid for it all. Check out the for sale section at pirate4x4.com thats were I found mine.
