Newish 4Runner Owner

Hey guys, I have joined the Toyota family. I picked up a 2000 SR5 a couple months ago. Its got an auto trans, 4wd, power windows/locks, and moonroof. No locking diff but oh well. Its got 110,000 miles and I bought it for $4500. I like it pretty well so far. The roof rack is a Yakima Load Warrior I got from my work (Toyota dealer) for free. Nice site you got here.

Welcome!

My neighbor has one of those roof racks he uses to move his daughter home from college every year. He likes it but he says his mpg's take a big hit when he's driving down the freeway with a big load on top.

Thanks all...yeah I'd imagine it would hurt the MPGs quite a bit with a load up there but I don't think the rack by itself has hardly affected my MPGs.

Yeah that's part of why I bought it. They gave the people who traded it in $3200 and would've put it on the lot for $7000 but gave it to me for $4500 since I work there. I was pretty satisfied, that's not too bad of a markup.

Ah,the employee discount;I was going to say you don't see them for that price unless they have over 200k on their odo in most cases.

Nice truck and the price is a big steal.
