"how far underwater can these things go?"

Thats funny.

Air comes into the airbox behind the Pass side headlight. If that goes underwater you are screwed.

haha sorry let me elaborate, i understand that theoretically the water line can go up to the airbox, but is there anything else it will mess up before it gets there? will it leak into the doors? and is there anyhting i can do to make it better without a snorkel?

Water is a bad thing for vehicles. Yes, you can do certain things to protect it a little better, but just stay out of DEEP water. Just think, one mistake, one miscalculation, and your motor is hydrolocked.

Nice truck! Just stay as far from water as you can, if it doesn't kill the motor it will get in the wheel bearings, driveline, etc. As far as a two inch lift goes there are a ton of options, read up. Just make sure you get differential drop spacers for whatever you do so you dont' break CV axles (sonoransteel.com)

Money depends on the type of lift you want, suspension or just a body lift. I'm guessing you are looking for a decent cheap suspension lift?
