I finally got a 4runner after almost 2 years of looking.Its a 2001 sr5 sport 4wd
and i love everything about it except the vsc/trac but I'm going to fix that shortly. It has 86k on it with factory tires so they about need replacing. I'm wanting to get an at tire and I've got it narrowed down to yokohama geolander at's or bfg at's. I also don't know what size to get.
I'd like to get a little bigger than the stock 265 70's because I'm going to lift it but I don't know when. The both the tires in 265 75's are 31.8 tall and are almost the same width. But the bfg's come in 275 70's which are a little taller and a little wider and I think thats what I want.
I'm afraid if I go with the 265 75's they will fill up the fender wells too much and make it look bad. I'm also afraid they will rub when I'm flexing in the ruts that are on the road going through my hunting lease. So let me know what you guys think about the tire choices and size choices and which you think would be the better choice.

 

Welcome To Yotatech! Glad to help, although the search button works great for this subject. I love BFG A/Ts. And I also like 265/75 R16. They won't rub, mine won't hit the fenders even with wheels that stick out further than stock. Never heard of anybody not wanting to fill out the fender wells though.

Get the yokohama's, a much better tire and you can't beat the price. BFG's are good but way too expensive

I'm not sure where you're located, but I may consider selling a nearly-new set of 265/75/16 Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos. I installed these a month or two ago and have put somewhere around 2,000 miles on them. I purchased these after putting 50,000 miles on a set of 275/70/16 Revos. Unfortunately, I like the old size better and would like to purchase another set of 275/70s if I can find someone to purchase the 265/75s. Let me know if you are remotely interested. The tires are like new and the truck is properly aligned. I have receipts from Tire Rack and from Goss's Garage for the tire mounting.

Nittos are a solid tire off road and have very good pavement manners especially in the wet which IMO is where the BFGs suffer and the Nittos cost me over $200 less out the door.
