New Lights

I'm putting 4 100-watt lights on my roof rack this weekend. I have the brackets from Surco, 2 30-amp switches and 100 feet of 10ga. wire. Anybody see any probs with this?

I plan to run the wires behind the rainseal behind the doors then into the engine compartment. Switches will go on center console.

Any Tips?

No relays, just big'ol switches. My dad is an electrical engineer and says it will work, I was just checking here.

I think relays would be a wise decision. W/o relays, the power runs into the switches and can run into problems... Relays are always safer but then again if ya got some big 'ol switches that handle the load, I suppose it's all good!

Yep, I see problems.
As stated, you should always use relays.

There is an old post here by me and a newer one by someone else on how to figure out the size of the relay you need for the wattage of your lamps.

Also please see the Tech section, as I have a write-up in there on how to wire up off road lights.

Here it is.
