Also, I might have missed this somewhere, but is there a way to additionally turn off the TRAC control as well?

 

Just wanted to say thanks to Beto for putting this together. Just completed the bagel mod on my '01 limited last night and everything works just as described. No more dethrottling!

 

I just completed the revised Andy Mod and posted photos to another thread; I was quite pleased with the finished product. Thank you Beto etal .... I was speaking to a friend last evening who has a 2007 Ltd he uses strictly for over-sand fishing. He told me the VSC drives him nuts so I told him I would see if there is any disconnect procedure on this forum for his model. I did a search but could not come up with anything. I will keep looking but wanted to post here just in case.

 

I fabricated the Andy Mod 2 by splicing into the ECU red wire with the black tracer under the dash and installing a SPST switch. It worked great and when I flipped the switch on it would stay on even after turning the ignition on and off. However, now it turns off when I turn the ignition off, and I have to flip the switch when I start up again. It does not matter what position the switch is in. I hope this description makes sense. I was super careful doing the installation and I have photos up on the forum in another thread.
POSTSCRIPT: The problem has resolved itself and this why I think it was an anomaly. My mechanic had my truck and while he was installing new body mounts he left the doors open and let the battery run down. He gave it enough of a charge to get it going again so I could pick it up, but the battery was not fully charged. It is my understanding that the ECU is very sensitive to the charging system so when I picked up the truck the ECU was acting irregularly!!! I put the battery on a slow 2am charge until it was registered fully charged and now the ECU responds correctly to the position of the switch. OFF position and the VSC/TRAC lights are ON and when when I turn the ignition off and on the VSC/TRAC is still OFF and the dash lights come on as before. I know I am not articulating this in the most mechanically scientific way, but you get the idea. It's all good.

 

This popped up again for me as high interest. Although I've had the Stealership replace most of the ABS systems' under hood components, my 2001 Sequoia is at the age where wheel sensors and center console located YAW sensor are throwing errors intermittently and sometimes causing rough and potentially dangerous driving as they shake and shutter.

I never did the AndyMod focused on the connectors at the Master Brake cylinder because the 2001 Sequoia Master Cylinder doesn't look like the MBC used in the T4R solutions.

Is there a cross-walk solution tested and working for the early Sequoias? Any Sequoia owners here?

 

Realizing this is an old thread, is there any reason not to pull those wires to ground without using relays?? Would save a lot of room and add simplicity. I'm also thinking 1mA or lower fuses would protect the modules from any risk of damage. Not sure on that one as I don't know the tolerance of the boards. Thanks.
