New Guy Kinda

So after some arguments and disagreements with the staff over on T4R.ORG I've decided to bring my write-ups and my build over here instead.

So just for a little background on me and my rigs, back in June of 08 I sold my beloved 2000 Supercharged SAS locked and armored Tacoma and bought a 2000 4Runner SR5 w/rear locker. It is still quite a work in progress but I took a bit of a different direction in this build. Instead of a crawler I am building it into a street machine and offroad machine. My idea is to have a my 4runner run a 13 second 1/4 mile and still be able to offroad like it's nobodies business. I am currently working with Irbis offroad to install an airbag, coil hybrid suspension system that will allow me to lower the suspension as low as 2" below stock and lift it as high as 3" above stock at the press of a button.
Currently on the to do list is a manual transmission swap which I have come to the final decision to go with the R150. I have been debating either that or the R154 and have realized that the R150 will be better for offroading.

Over the last 4 months I have dumped about $3000 into my motor to try to make it dominate when I finally get my new TRD supercharger which is on back order till June but I have recently decided to sell my motor (which is bored and stroked to 3.8L and has new cams and crank) and swap it out for a 1UZ-FE. Im having a lot of trouble finding one cause I want to get a whole Lexus SC400 instead of just the motor.

I am from Denver, CO and I do go wheelin quite frequently and also will be running Bandimere a lot this summer so if anyone wants to join me or would like some company on your trip, let me know.

Well that just about sums it all up. Im glad to be here and am excited to hear and share Toyota info from/with everyone.

Oh and heres an old pic of my rig to tide you all over for now

Thank you all for your comments. I forgot to say something in my original post, I have actually modeling my 4runner (as far as the offroad part goes) off of a post I read on here a long time ago called Newbie Modification Information from AxleIke. The only part Im skipping is the armor part cause I cant add a lot of weight from the performance stand point. But I just want to say thanks AxleIke for that post and if there's anyone who hasn't read it yet here's the link. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f120...mation-121264/

haha ya touche. If we ever go wheelin Ill pay for dinner afterward lol. Which by the way, when are we gonna go wheelin ron. every time Ive gone on the t4r.org trips you've never been able to make it.
Oh p.s. can you maybe do me a huge favor and send CSL a message on t4r.org that he can find me over here. I never saved any of my emails addresses that I had in my pm inbox. If you could I'd really apprectiate it. Thanks

They are made by MB and I actually got them at Discount Tire. Here's a better pic of them

Actually there are some pics on here of it somewhere. I posted some pics of it while I was building it (never any of it finished though). But that was like 2 or 3 years ago and I don't even remember what my username was. I lost all the ones that were on my computer cause I got a new one.

heres one more pic for good measure.

WElcome , So are you swapping in the 1uz-fe or the 1gr-fe. The reason I ask is in your intro you say you are swapping in the 1uz-fe and in your signature it says 1gr-fe. Either way good Luck.

I love what you're going for with your runner. I wish I had enough money to do that as well, but of course, I'd probably get more horsepower and better gas mileage if I'd just clean the damn engine, which I haven't done since my last muddin' trip. Anyways, the truck looks real good and I wish you the best of luck in your adventure and keep us all posted! I'm sure we're anxious to see the outcome. I know I am!

honestly, it isn't that expensive when you know how to do everything yourself. Not to mentention, the stuff Im buying and swapping out will allow me to sell off my old stuff. Considering that the 3.4l is more sought after than almost any other yota motor (excluding the 22RE) I'll be able to make a lot of my money back when I sell it. Plus its completely rebuilt so I should be able to get quite a bit out of it.
