Post New Guy

Well since im a little new to this ill just explain my ride and my delema. Ive had a 95 4 runner (auto), and i put a 4 inch trail master lift on it last year (thank you summer job), and 33" pro-comp all terrains. Since the lift however i have had various problems (some being related directly to the lift, some not being related at all), but as such ill just start with an easy one that is seriously becoming an annoyance. Recently the lovely Runner rolled over 100000 and my dash started making a really loud, irratating noise, like two unlubricated rubber pieces rubbing against eachother. Some previous advice has told me that its the speedometer cable Im not sure how much validity there is to that statement, but im hoping some one will be able to help . Anywho ill try to throw some pics of the rig up, but for right now i gotta jet to class.

Btw i love my runner, seriously

I had this problem in a 91 p/up and it turned out to be the speedo cable, this was confirmed when the noise went away and the speedometer stopped working.

I am having a similiar problem in my '96 Tacoma. Is this a DIY item or is this better left to a mechanic?
