i wish i could justify a reason for getting the 305s, but until some extended shocks are in my inventory no major wheeling will apply. i agree, they look TOO sick to not get. is the gas drainage that considerable between the two?

Having never had a pair myself i have to go off second hand accounts.

But i would think a 1 - 2 MPG drop would be about right from what i have heard.

i'd go with the 285's...I mean 305s are just unpractical if you ask me and it seems like you don't really need them...Plus personally the 305s would look a little too chunky (i like to have some space between the tire and the wheel well) but thats just me...either would look good you just need to balance out hte pros and cons and see whichever makes more sense to get...

yeah as much as i don't want to admit it this is true. i was on the phone with the discount tire guy in atlanta and asking for price quote for 285/75 bfg ats. installed/warranty would 830ish but he said he could get me a better deal on nitto terragrapplers in the same size. i'm leaning towards bfg but wanted to see if anyone had comments on the contrary.

also, my friend just bought a set of 31x1150 bfg ats at sams club for 530 i believe. anyone gone this route?

well i have to say that the best price i have ever found on tires is sams club. they have 285's for $120 - 140 a tire including waranty depedning on brand. They only carry goodyear and one other lower end brand though. You give up selection for price.
