New exhaust is ON!!!
Got the 2.5" system installed today. Ive gotten to drive it a little. So far, so good. Look at the pic albums titled "new 2.5" exhaust"
and "new 2.5" exhaust 2" on my webshots page.

The welding and bending of the pipes looks a little ugly. Thats my only problem so far. They dont rattle or leak though. Outlet tip is ugly, but I forgot to say anything about that to begin with so I figured I might dress it with a tip from autozone or something. Might even go with a pace setter tip. I have the ability to cut and attach a tip so its not too much of a problem. Its sound through the new shultz hi flow cat(supposed to either make the carsound ones, or is made by carsound) and the new muffler is a little different than it was through the previous stock cat and dynamax muff. This setup allows more of the Pop Pop sound to come through while with the stock cat, that was not there and all I heard was the continuious tone. Im not sure if I like that. It seems to give it just a hint of a "rice burner"
sound. The first 6 pics are looking forward from the back. They cut the primary tube as close to the stock collector as they could and sleeved the 2.5" tubeing on there.
How does it perform? Better than it did. This system has added a good deal of kick to this modded motor. When under load, it will rev quicker and pull harder. Off line torque does not seem to have suffered, and I think its better. More tests to follow, but comming home this evening, there is a spot where I turn onto a road and its flat with a couple of signs along about 1/8 mile. My test ref. is from the turn point(from a dead stop) to the last sign. With these slightly oversize tires(30s) and the 2.25" cat back, I could get up to 55 when punching it. Tonight, while giving it some foot(not the whole foot, wife was with me) I actually exceeded my mph by the last ref. sign by about 5 mph. This shows that the new exhaust is helping out. More later.
