New exhaust

Hey guys, got a little commission check this week, so I figured it was
time to do something about the horrible sounding, leaking exhaust.

Thinking about having 2.5" run from the collector back. Thinking about a new
catyletic converter and some type of high flowing bullet type muffler
to try and get a little more power out of the little 22re.

Plan on having it run to exit just in front of the drivers side rear tire.
Any pitfalls in this set up? Figured it would keep me from dragging it
on any type of steep embankment.

Give me your input.

I have a hiflow carsound cat, a 2.25" cat back and a hi flow 'turbo' muffler....helped low end a TINY bit and hurt top end severely. I cant wait to go back to the normal OEM exhuast. I want my highway cruising power back and I have the 3.0L, so I'd suggest leaving it alone or MAYBE going up 1/4" at most....

2.5 is way too big for a small NA 4 banger and you'll regret the overall power loss, you should stick with a 2 inch.

Well, I shot on over to the muffler shop, and becase I am cheap, I let them
talk me into doing a cat back job. They said the cat was fine, and replacing
it would basically be wasting money. So, $100 later, my truck is quiet, and
has an exhaust that actually expels the spent gases out from under the
truck. What a novel concept. Either way, the ride home was awesomely
quiet, and the truck feels like it actually ran better. Odd.

I'm glad things went well and you didn't kill your bank account.
