I just had my clutch replaced on my 96 3rd gen (and FYI, I did not go to the same dealer that replaced my axle seals.) Does $850 sound right? The clutch cover was replaced $127.20, disc clutch $123.98, bearings $95.57, re-surfaced flyweel $49.00 & $430 labor.

They also told me that I could not get a TRD clutch for my runner. Is that true?

Does anyone know why they don't offer a clutch on the New Runner? Is it because of the vehicle traction system?

Now, if only I can talk MY girlfriend into buying me some AlbaWorks side steps for christmas, those are sweet! And a S/C would be nice too!

$430 LABOR TO DO A CLUTCH!!!:eek: I am not sure if this is way overboard for a dealership because I have never had anything that big done before but good god man it's not that hard to change a clutch out. How many hours would that much labor cost be? Sucks you paid over twice as much for labor as you did parts!

 

UK- Ya, It was kinda expensive on the labor side. I hope that this one lasts longer than the last one. The previous owner had the same dealer install the last clutch less than 3 years ago. I've had the 4 Runner for about 1 yr and had no idea it was replaced but kinda knew that it was going out. I also found out that the head gasket was replaced by the factory...
