I've heard good things about stainless steel brake lines improving response by eliminating the stretch that occurs with the rubber tubes.

Can either go with Goodridge or Russell. Will go with these when I swap my rotors and pads.

You can't, they are sealed bearings up front.

Wow, that IS a great price. Only problem is they're out of stock and Goodridge is backordered. Apparently, they'll get more in May. Thanks for the link though.

I just changed my front brakes today. I installed new oem pads and autozone rotors. I have 85,000 miles on my 2000 4runner, and the pads really didn't need to be change. I was surprised.

Autozone rotors suck. Mine are already warped and I don't ride too hard on my brakes. I replaced them twice for free with the 2 year warranty and I doubt they will replace them again.

Just ordered a set of crossdrilled genuine Brembo rotors through DRT. Thought about the crossdrilled/slotted application for a second, then decided to go fully crossdrilled.

The rotors are drilled completely through the rotors with 60 holes as compared with 45 in their drilled/slotted application. Theoretically, that is a significant amount of rotational mass removed off of the blank rotor - Which in addition to the gas/heat venting, should translate to better acceleration, shorter stopping distance, and longer rotor life, (as long as they don't crack). Realistically, these probably provide aesthetics over any noticeable performance difference as compared with the blanks.

Anyways, needed new rotors and thought these were nice. Will weigh them when I get them in for comparison purposes.

Yea - once I took the 4runner up to highway speeds, I noticed a vibration when I used the brakes. I couldn't figure out was causing it. I took the wheels off and inspected my work. The new pads and rotors were installed corectly. So, today I asked autozone to replace the rotors that I just bought. I once again took the tires off and installed the replaced rotors. That fixed it. The first set of autozone rotors I bought must have had a flaw. I probably should have gone with brembo rotors.

Whenever I changed the front rotors on my Tacoma .. I'm not sure what brand they were, but they were cheap and from AutoZone..

Not even a month or so later they started to vibrate like the did before... granted not as bad.. but you could tell it was starting again.

I didn't have a lot of cash to drop on rotors at the time though.

autozone rotors are cheap, readily available, and have a warranty. That's why they were so tempting. I also helped my brother in law change the brakes on his 99 4runner last month. He wanted to save money, so he used autozone duralast rotors and pads. He has the 15" rotors, so his front brakes were done for just over $60. Cheap, but ...

i am also having brake warping isues and i think part of the problem is the ceramic pads i got from napa. i read the thread about the performance friction pads and i call auto zone and they said the the part number 5024 was recalled? so i called another auto zone and asked them for the performance friction pads for a 96 land cruiser and they gave me a part number of 0502-20.? will these pads fit and work well on my 98 4wd 4runner?

not to get off the subject too far, but when I did my rear brake shoes, I installed the AutoZone ceramic metallic one's, needless to say, yesterday my brakes went out. When I pulled the rear drum both shoes had no pad left on them. They tore off and I just had a bunch of broken pieces......

Personally I think I'm going back to stock material, it leaves less dust, especially the fronts. The PF pads just make a mess on my rims....
