Talking New 99 4Runner!

I finally found the time to clean it up real good and take some pictures... I just bought it a couple weeks ago and have since changed the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, drive belts, plug wires, plugs, coolant, trans oil, motor oil and filter, MAF sensor, air filter, and brakes. I ran into a few loop holes with the timing belt but eventually figured it out. I'm really excited to hopefully start doing some mods... I'm thinking just a little lift, 33's, Rock sliders and a bumper with a winch. Just a DD and weekend rig. I know I say that's all I'm going to do but I know I'm going to get suckered into doing more, Heres the pics I took, the aren't dial up friendly,

yoder519, I am going to take the running boards off sooner or later but I think I am going to wait until I get rock sliders. It's already a PITA to get in it!

bigt, I honestly have no idea if it was only the 4 bangers with the 15" wheels but don't settle for the 2.7L, save up and get the 3.4, I guarantee you won't regret it. Thanks for the compliment, I personally didn't like the color when I bought it but it has since grown on me to the point I love it!

jimbos_4runner, thanks! The only downside of the finish is that it shows every scratch and smear...

DailyDrive, Yea it would have been nice if they just went ahead and put wood in but I am content with what I have.

Djlarroc, Thanks for the compliment! I head out to Denver with my dad and step mom to go skiing about every month during the winter and he has a 03 4Runner. Now that I have my own I convinced him to go 4wheelin with me on some of the trails up there, maybe we can hook up and go ride sometime because I know literally nothing about 4wheelin in trucks, I'm an ATV guy

Thanks man, my camera makes it look better than it is. It has paint peeling on the running boards a bit and there is a small tear in the leather on the back seats but other than that it is in pretty darn good shape.

Lol, Sorry about the accident... I would be real pissed if I got in an accident that soon after I bought it. I bought it with 129k miles and it now has 130k.

Pre' '99's V6 could be had with 15" wheels probably on the base models.

Well the next thing on my list is a new head gasket, lol... Went out to start it up the other day and bam, white smoke and an empty coolant reservoir. It isn't currently leaking but I am assuming it's going to get worse, not better. Mod wise I am going to start with the cheap stuff, deck plate, clear corners, paint rims black, then a small 3" lift, some new rims (Maybe) and tires and then a brush guard to hide that ugly fat lip bumper!

pius22, thanks, I like it a bunch! What does bkgnd mean? And yea the suburb areas of St. Louis are pretty but I don't enjoy looking at the city much!

berzerkrobot, yea it does look a wee bit cluttered but it will have to do... With my luck I would take off the paint when I tried to take off the stupid dealer badges! I am not going to worry about it for now!

WEINERDOGBONE, I just flipped 130k miles... It runs flawlessly with the exception of the darn head gasket,

Benny_Wiskas, I love your 4Runner! The only differences I see is that yours looks cooler than mine and it has the gold badges and a gold pin stripe going down the side... Hopefully someday mine will look similar! I know what you mean when you say it's addicting, I swore I would never mod my ATV but then I made it into a mud machine,
