That sucks on the front diff drain bolt. I changed the diff oil, transfer case, and trans oil in mine the beginning of November. I had no issues except for the transfer case. someone had tightened it pretty dang tight and messed up the head on the bolt. I beat a socket on it and it finished it off when I tried to loosen it. I was looking at it and was pretty irritated. Luckily there is enough room there I was able to get a big pair of vise grips on it. I got it off but was starting to wonder.

By the way, from the looks we have the same exterior and interior color. And almost the same wheels.

Nice!

It's a good enough color.

I was really dumb/impatient. I'm living back in town now, but I was out 2 hours from the nearest town and 1 hour from pavement all summer. so when I realized the front diff was a hex (why the hell??), I wasn't prepared. So I just looked around the house and shop and found some allen wrenches but not quite the right size.

Wanting to get the job done and with no way to just run to the store...I just used a slightly smaller wrench than I should have. Fill bolt came out ok, drain did not. Not sure how many times I have to learn that type of lesson before it finally sinks in...

But I bought the right size attachment for my socket wrench, and the next size up, plus new fill and drain bolts for the diff, and once it warms up I'll get it all done.
