Don't forget the thermostat while you are in there.

flush that engine with some engine flush stuff u can pickup at autozone. i've used that junk stuff before it works pretty good. and i have also been pretty impressed with that seafoam stuff.. that stuff does wonders to cleaning up any engine

i hope that didnt bend a valve with jumping the timing belt..
so if you did u might aswell pull it out for a whole rebuild and do it right.. just think of it as a investment and its still cheaper than buying a new car.. and dropping anywhere from 10-50k on a new truck..

you might want to check out this website a asortment of engines straight from Japan.
http://www.stcengines.com/

i know in Japan its very hard to have a car oldr than 4yrs old and anything over 40k miles.. due to there very strick eviroment emmisions. none of the engine over there use egr valves so the engine oil stays alot cleanner then usa engines..

a rebuild or a whole engine swap.. is still better than being in debt for 20-30k

Impossible on the 5VZFE, as it is a non-interference engine.

Thanks again for all the input. So I tore the whole front apart...it was a mess down in the lower crankshaft timing gear. All the teeth in the gears had that junk in them so I'm not surprised that the belt slipped. I'm so thankful it's a non-interference engine.
Everything went fairly well. The worst problem was tensioning the power steering pump. That tensioning bolt is really hard to get at.
One thing I don't understand is that the passenger side cam is the one that slipped but it is also the one that the cam timing sensor is on. Wouldn't the ECM recognize that there was a difference between that cam sensor and the crankshaft sensor and give a trouble code on the OBDII scanner?
Hopefully today I'll put new valve covers gaskets on, change the oil and fire her up.

She runs!!! So...new waterpump, new timing belt, new other 3 belts, new thermostat, crank bolt torqued to around 213 ftlbs (with locktite), radiator serviced, oil change, and passenger side valve cover gasket renewed. Whew.

There was some gunk when I opened the valve cover. I totally cleaned the cover so it was sparkling new but I suppose I should run seafoam or the like through. Do you just add that stuff to the oil and let it run? Should I do an oil change afterwards running that stuff through?

Thanks for everyones input...I appreciate it.

ya just follow the instructions on the can... dump it in the oil and run the engine for like 10 minutes then drain the oil and then refill engine with new oil and filter.. that stuff is good for old barn finds and stuff or find from old ppl that left cars setting away in the garage.. u would be suprised what it can do..

A lot of people over at bob is the oil guy like to rave about Auto-Rx for sludge, never used it though...kind of pricey ...I'm cleaning out a bit of gunk from my V6 by just having shorter intervals with my synthetic oil.

Good to hear she's running again.
