Need new radiator...got an idea
Can i put a radiator made for a manual tranny ( no AT cooler) in my rig (2002 AT 4Runner 4WD) since I'm going to bypass the tranny cooler with an external? Anyone tried this?

I just got a new one 2 weeks ago at Advance Auto for $114.99 + Tax
Had to get a new cap as well since the new radiator used a smaller cap.
Total was like 130 for everything and it was in stock which allowed me to install it within an hour of purchase.

Redi-Radiator P/N: 43-3198
Sorry, no P/N for the locking cap but it's NOT the one they tell you goes with the radiator (Stant 11-329).
The one they tell you to buy fits the stock radiator.
The one you'll need with the new radiator is the smaller one.

Get the one for the automatic even if you plan to use an aftermarket cooler.
The transmission cooler tank in the bottom of the radiator is great for use as a water heater on camping trips. I have mine setup with quick disconnects and used the heck out of it last year as a water heater after Hurricane IKE when we had water but no natural gas for almost a month.
Nothing like being able to throw a small 12volt pump in a lake or stream and taking a hot shower in the morning when camping
