Ive thought until my head hurts so I need so help/advice. I am getting a rear bumper made like or like a cbi rear bumper with tire carrier. I cant decide If i should get a 1.5' bl a 1' bl or just get some land cruiser coils. At first I was thinking 1' but then I found a deal on a 1.5 then I said screw it, get some land cruiser coils and forget about it. What should I do. What will look the best with a rear bumper installed. Lmk what you think or if you have any other suggestions. Oh yeah I have a 285/75 tire and dont want it to look small..

 

You'll find tons of debate regrading body lifts. I'll let you search, since there is so much info out there.

One thing that you need to consider before having the bumper built is that it'll have to be built differently if you decide to get a body lift. So I'd at least wait til you decide what to do regarding lift before you start on that rear bumper. You don't want to pay a few hundred bucks for a new bumper only to have it look funky with a 1" gap between the bumper and body.

Oh ive searched about the body lifts. I want a 1 inch but found a good deal on the 1.5. Yeah thats why im trying to decide about the lift before I get the bumper or atleast make my decision so they can add in the inch or inch and a half. Then I said forget a bodylift all together and just get the coils....im just trying to see what everyone thinks the best would be.

 

My personal opinion is that any money that you are considering spending on suspension lifts should be saved and put in the "Future SAS" piggy bank. There are tons of people who will disagree with me though, and rightfully so if you are certain that you will never do a SAS.

For me, a body lift made most sense because it was the most affordable way to make room for bigger tires without having to cut up my body. In addition to letting me mount my sliders up a bit higher, it also allowed me to lift my t-case up an inch using a Budbuilt with a 1" drivetrain lift.

 

I wish I could sas but im 18, starting college and its my dd for now. If I ever did put solid axels under it that would be years down the road when I buy a tacoma after college(hopefully). I had always planned on doing the body lift but then the land cruiser coils popped in my head. They add quite a bit of lift in the back and im geting coilovers this week so i can adjust them. (Im already lifted right now with ome in front and pro comp in the back.)

 

How much lift will I end up with with the lc coils and a rear bumper with tire carrier?

 

i might be wrong but i think the bumper is mounted to the body and wont be affected by a body lift, at least thats what the toytec guy told me. but i think i am wrong... it seems as if that would mount to the frame and not move, especially with an aftermarket bumper.
id fix up your suspension as best as you can afford before doing the body lift
