I don't think that's really what they are for, but its possible they could help. It all depends on what your camber was and how much and in what direction the TC UCAs change the camber setings as well as lift up the front end. So the guy said he maxed out the adjuster cam bolts as much as he could and still get the camber right? Its all related, changing the camber can change the caster, changing the caster can change the camber. I guess just lifting the front end some would help and the TC kit does that right? Or you could lower the rear some too (I need to do that myself)

Conatus: Please clarify... your first post said that all you had done at the shop was change the tie-rods, and then in post #20, you say that the guy from Midas said the other guys probably only set the toe (which is all that would be needed after a tie-rod job, by the way.)

Now, if your truck was riding fine before you brought it in to the first shop, then presumably, your caster and camber were OK... at least close to spec.

If it was riding horibly after, and the toe was correct (which it was, according to the report you posted), then they did mess with camber and caster.

Now, has your SS 1.2 lift been installed for some time now (and if so, how were your alignment numbers when you got it aligned after installing the lift), or was it done just before this last alignment (around the same time as your tie-rods). If it was done at the same time as the tie-rods, then just installing the lift is what messed with your caster and camber adjustments.

Sorry about all the questions... just trying to get things clarified with a timeline of when things happened, and wondering why the first shop even messed with caster and camber unless you asked them for a full alignment.

I have to get some weight in the rear and get it down myself. Its quite high as it is now. With my spare and bumper that is being fabricated it will improve the caster a bit.

Not sure exactly the advantage of the TC arms. Or if the cost benefit is worth it. I will have to research that some more.

I dont know for certain exactly what the Goodyear shop did. My mechanic changed the tie rods and brought it to them. All I know is it was loose and wandering when I got it back. I can only assume and guess what they did. I have no conclusive evidence.

the steering was wierd before all this. It was very stiff going straight but then broke free and felt loose when turned right or left. Perhaps the tie rods were worn funny. I dunno. Never inspected them.

After the kit was installed in Dec. my mechanic said that Goodyear checked toe only. They didnt check caster or camber at all. From what I've heard the shop is unreliable and dishonest.

I'm happy now and thats all that matters!
