Ah he is actually pretty anal about his stuff, I think if it wasn't the first year the tundra was out he would have considered it...

I love that truck from Back to the Future. It's badass. If I ever build a 2nd gen truck, it will look like that.

No, not at all. As I said, I have never heard of this. All I can say is that it looks stock. I believe it is only on the driver's side. I found the wires for them yesterday and it looks like they are not hooked up. Maybe I should run some new ones and see what happens

The first thing I plan to do when the project gets underway is to pull out the engine and ditch the slushbox and replace it with, you guessed it, a W56 backed by dual cases with 4.7's in the rear. That is unless a R151 happens to fall out of the sky and make a soft landing in my front yard. The bonus is that according to my information plate my truck has 4.30s (the only good thing about auto trucks) which will make 37's a little more bearable because I don't plan on changing the gears.

i've got 4.38s in my truck with 31s, and it's more than bearable. i've even considered only regearing to 4.56 when i go with some 33s for keeping my RPMs lower at higher speeds, but maybe 4.88s might be better on the engine?

the truck has 31s right now and it seems to move pretty well. 37s will be a different story. The W56 will help some, an R151 would be better. Either way it will likely see little to no road time when it is done so it is not a big deal one way or the other.

As long as you are regearing I would definately go with the 4.88s...

It will be badass I hope. No telling when it will start because I still need to get the parts together and this was the biggest part and first step. Need tranny, t-cases, seats, guages, wheels, tires, fuel cell, and a WHOLE bunch of steel.

The truck had a brand new starter when I bought it. As of right now I have changed the battery, alternator, distributor cap and rotor, plugs and wires, oil and filter, wipers, and rear gear oil. It runs like a champ now. It was a challenge to get it started before, now it probably starts faster than my S2000.

Everyone keep their eyes open for a good deal on a W56 and cases for me...
