My Crack is Getting Larger

About a month ago a rock chipped my windshield all the way at the top to where I could not see it from inside.

Then a huge crack started forming and it was too late to get it fixed. I think everyday the crack gets a little larger. Destroying everyone in it's path.

Is it possible to stop the crack from growing by getting a really small drill bit and drill a hole at the end of the crack to stop it?

I am going to have to replace the windshield eventually anyways, so if this doesnt work it will either speed up the growth of my crack or not do anything.

Thoughts?

Just replace it. I've heard that PPG glass is stronger and better.

Yeah I was starting to wonder if I had gone to the right website there for a minute.

Then you have stop any activities that might be contributing to this trend. Once it gets all oversized, it will never go back the way it was. If it's not embarassingly large at this point, you might be able to get one of those guys in the vans you see to perform some plastic surgery and get you by for a while. But as long as you keep abusing it, your crack is just going to get bigger and bigger and eventually people will begin to notice, point and stare. Eventually, even the cops will become interested in you if you have that thing hanging out there for all the world to see.

The best way to avoid having an ever expanding crack is to catch it before it starts and to avoid activities that might contribute to expanding the average crack.

-or-

Ahhh yes... I had read about that on the CNN science page. It was developed by a cartel in Colombia as a way to smuggle less into the country and get more to sell here. Unfortunately for the cartel, the end user has found it to be a great way to avoid dealers as well. Buy a little crack once, then water and fertilize it and you have a constant supply.

Congrats on getting it to grow. Crack is particularly picky about the conditions it grows in, so you must have put some time and money into your grow room. Keep the conditions as close to ideal as you can and your crack should continue to grow for a long time. Just be careful when you take cuttings to sell, it's illegal in some places and if you take off too much, you can upset the growth cycle.

My mistake...I thought this was about a windshield!

Get married. Your wife will let you know the minute that it becomes larger. It's lite beer from then on buddy.

Had a friend who swore that a little superglue at the end of each crack line would stop it from spreading. I never tried it, but at least it would be cheap.

Most insurance companies allow you several windshields per year.....don't mess with the crack, just toss the old one out and get a new one.
