A necro thread from 2005. I bet there are 13 year olds working on their own 4Runners who weren't born when this thread began.
Ice under snow is pretty much what we get here in VA. Nice to see people elsewhere think it's hard to drive in. If your 4Runner performs poorly in the snow it's probably the driver.

^ what he said. operator error, or you replaced a differential and got the wrong gear ratio, I have seen that before and it makes it almost impossible to drive on icy roads. So if your truck is ok and your tires are new check for a loose nut behind the wheel. My 4runner does fine on ice even with boggers that aren't designed for ice and snow, but then again I have over 30 years driving experience in Alaskan winters.

I got stuck in the snow the other day... i'm still not too sure who to blame... me or grimace (my runner)
The snow was just over the hood, i couldn't open my doors i had to crawl out of the sun roof with my shovel and dig myself out... 4 beer later i was free!!!!! serves me right fro wheel'n alone at the farm haha
