Mustang GT vs. 4runner tonight *results*

Well, I don't normally post kill stories in my 'runner but given the recent threads I figured it was appropriate. Anyways, feeling good about my new exhaust I had done today I was feeling a little *froggy* on the way home tonight. Quite cold out, the sc was really making good power, and I swear I can feel a good power increase up top.

Anyways, on to the race ~

I come up on a '94-'95 GT mustang, lowered, wheels and exhaust. So happens we end up at a light together and I give him a little rev, well light goes and he doesn't, but I hammer it just a little to give him a idea what I'm thinking. Next light there is no question he is ready to go, rev'n away and looking over. Light goes green, we're dead even, through the intersection I have aboout a bumper on him, (I hear him chirping into 2nd), runner into 2nd, still a bumper, but slowly increasing, into 3rd and I actually start pulling away!!! Pulled about a car length before he calls it enough getting beatin up on by a SUV!! I let off and wait to give the thumbs up, but he doesn't want to talk I laughed the rest the way home, not supposed to be that way!!!

Score:

Mustang 0

4runner 1

That's a great story. I would feel horrible if I was that guy. Then I would go home and start ordering stuff so that it wouldn't happen again.

Good Job!

I raced a mustang in my 2nd gen one time. I don't think he realized I was racing him. It was an early '80s model with a 4 cylinder and a flat tire. I almost kept up but those things are just too damn fast.

I did the same thing once, almost won, but then I saw the white rag hanging out the window. Come to think of it, no one was in the car either. Hmmm!

Well at least you posted details about your kill. Good Kill, be careful though, many of those 94-98's did the PI (power improvement) head swap so they could have as much power (260) as the 99+ Gt's

I'll bet he was mad. If I were him I would have waived you over into a parkinglot to see what just kicked my Mustang's tail. How could he not be curious? His v8 sports car just got ripped by lifted SUV.

Good kill, nice score card...

Are you sure that it wasn't just a really short old lady driving?

He probably just assumed he had Nitrous or supercharger on it, and he would have been right.

Hmmm....I "may" have a slight advantage. Our Runners are set-up about the same but it may come down to the driver. I used to race my '69 Firebird and my Porsche if that means anything.

Line 'em up.......

Could have been her "hankie" stuck in the door. Were those knuckles I saw on the steering wheel...
